January 2010 Chapter Meeting

Please join us for the January 2010 meeting of the Central California Coast Chapter of the Society for Conservation Biology.

When: Thursday, January 21st, 6:30 – 9:00 pm

Why: To network with local conservation biology students and professionals, learn something new about on-the-ground application of conservation biology in central California, hear about upcoming programs and field trips, have a great meal, and have fun!
Networking begins at 6:30 pm. The business meeting will start at 7:00 pm with dinner at 7:30 pm. The program starts at 8:00 pm.

Please RSVP by January 18th; dinner will be a selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods, priced around $15-$20 per person.

Program: “Garters and whips- a journey into listed snakes of the Bay
Area”. Our featured dinner speaker will be Karen Swaim, founder and principal of Swaim Biological Incorporated, a research and consulting firm specializing in amphibians and reptiles, especially those of the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Karen is one of the premier experts on federally and state-listed snakes of the Bay Area, and her presentation will focus on her work with these species.
